Debbie Campbell

Before coming to college I worked full-time but I wanted to improve my job prospects and create better opportunities for myself.
At college I developed communication and customer care skills. I learned how to manage my time and money wisely. I took part in work experience placements during each of my three years which were extremely beneficial. I have really grown in confidence.
My HNC year was more difficult than previous years as I had just become a first time mum. I struggled from time to time but my lecturers and classmates helped in any way they could, not only with college work but also with personal issues. It was really good to feel supported.

It is overwhelming to have won Student of the Year and a great pleasure. I would definitely recommend studying at the College. I am so proud of what I have achieved and lucky to have had such great support from amazing lecturers.

I want to start my own business and open a hair and beauty salon.

Debbie’s lecturer said “Debbie excelled on the HNC Hairdressing course. She demonstrated great organisational skills by managing home life, work and college commitments. She exhibited positive peer mentoring abilities and provided valuable support to first year students. Her work was always of a high standard and her assessment submissions always on target.”
