Before I came to college, my background was a mixture of hospitality, make up artistry and modelling.

I always had an interest in beauty therapy and so getting qualifications in this area made sense. The qualifications I’ve gained have totally prepared me for working as a Beauty Therapist in my own salon. I made a choice to study at Ayrshire College because of its great reputation and high standards.

I really enjoyed the work experience placement at Three Little Birds Spa. I feel that I have become even more confident in myself and managed to build up valuable experience. I also have learnt lots from people who have been in the beauty industry for a long time and so this placement week was very enjoyable for me.

I am currently a self-employed Beauty Therapist at my Ardrossan based salon. As a professional beauty therapist I not only enhance my client’s appearance and improve their wellbeing through the application of luxury treatments, I also like to ensure my clients feel good about themselves, inside and out.

I will continue what I have been doing so far, as I love my job. I will eventually hope to expand my beauty salon, providing my clients with innovative service with the highest standards.

The time I spent at college benefitted me in many ways. It let me experience a rich social and cultural scene, meet different people and most importantly, study something I was always interested in. It also helped me to gain and develop variety of skills that are very useful when running my own beauty business.  I would sum up my experience at the College as ‘unforgettable’.
