Before college I worked full-time in a fast food restaurant.  I had been at college previously studying Biomedical Science but felt it wasn’t right for me.

I had always been interested in accounting and I knew the best way to gain knowledge in this field was to retrain at Ayrshire College.  I now want to become a chartered accountant so I know I’ve made the right decision.

College was very enjoyable. I feel like I’ve been guided and informed along the way about which routes I can take after I finish college. The lecturers and student services staff have been extremely supportive at every stage. It was a bonus getting to meet a whole range of people too!

The skills I’ve learned in my time at college, such as organisational and time management skills, as well as accounting skills have really helped me to grow in confidence. I was really surprised to have won this award, it was totally unexpected!

My future plans include getting a job as an accountant and working my way up through the company.
