In today’s difficult economic environment many young people have not had the opportunity to gain essential work experience through part-time work. Ayrshire College believes that work placements can provide students with excellent practical experience which can enhance their understanding of the key principles and skills they are developing in the classroom. If you would like to arrange a work place opportunity within your organisation please contact the Business Centre.
Ayrshire College welcomes support from corporate sponsors to help maintain and develop the top-class provision for the people of Ayrshire. Many businesses are proud to be able to give something back to the community in which they operate. Industry sponsorship helps to ensure that our students continue to have access to the best resources and study within the best possible learning environment. For more information view our brochure here.
We believe that it is important for every company to link with and offer support to their local community. Communities support businesses; sponsorship is a great way of saying thank you by helping others have the access to great learning resources; ultimately you will be supporting the economic development of Ayrshire at the grassroots. Linking your organisation to Ayrshire College shows your commitment to supporting local services and also may help to raise awareness of your organisation’s work.
You can choose to sponsor anything from a small contribution to the student hardship fund to a larger sponsorship arrangement, for example sponsorship of the Graduation ceremonies or sponsoring an area within the college like a lecture theatre or student café. Sponsorship can be in the form of a financial contribution, provision of equipment and materials or the provision of specialist speakers to enhance the student learning experiences.
Here are a few of the possible sponsorship opportunities:
Our Graduation Ceremonies – an annual event in the Autumn which has more than around 300 - 600 participants at each event on our three main campuses
Celebration of Success – an annual event to recognise and celebrate staff achievements
Creative Industries Events – a number of high-profile events in covering Fashion and Textiles, Art and Design, Graphic Design, Music, Dance and Performing Arts.
Hair and Beauty Salons
Construction and Engineering Workshops
Art Studios or the Performing Arts Theatre
Equipment or Resources
Ayrshire College is always striving to ensure our students are working with sector leading resources and equipment. Sponsorship or donations can help support us to provide additional resources which would otherwise be out with our limited budgets; access to sector leading technology and equipment resources can significantly enhance the student’s learning experience and open up a wider variety of work opportunities at their end of their course.
Some sponsors choose to sponsor specific programmes at the College which are linked directly to their business. There are a very wide range of programmes which means for most sectors of industry there will be an appropriate opportunity.
Student Hardship Fund
Some sponsors wish to contribute to the student hardship fund which allows the College to support students through difficult times in order to maintain them on their courses whilst they have difficult personal circumstances to deal with.
