ESOL National 4
This course will run on a Tuesday (Kilmarnock) or Thursday (Kilwinning) from 6pm to 8pm for 32 weeks. These times include a period for shut down procedures at the end of the night.
Applicants should have an SQA (or equivalent) Access 3 (SCQF Level 3) certificate in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) at the previous level studied or complete and ESOL Initial Assessment (with a college lecturer) prior to beginning the course.

These are two freestanding Units and have been designed for candidates whose first language is not English but who need to develop their ability to use English in a broad range of personal and social contexts.
While studying these Units candidates will develop their competence in the skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing in English for personal and social purposes.
You’ll build transferable Essential Skills in meaningful contexts to help you become more effective in life, learning, and work. This could be communication, numeracy, ICT, working with others, and problem solving.
This course is eligible for Individual Training Account (ITA) and Fee Waiver, depending on individual circumstances. For further information on funding go to our Funding and Fees tab to the right.
However, ITA applications have been put on hold by Skills Development Scotland as their initial target for applications has been met. If your application has been approved, you must book onto a course within four weeks of receiving your confirmation email.
