Introduction to Cake Decorating
This course runs on a Tuesday evening in Kilmarnock and a Thursday evening in Ayr, 6pm - 9pm for 12 weeks.

Must bring your own apron, tea towel and container for taking baking home.
This Unit is a mandatory Unit of the National Progression Award in Bakery, but can be taken as a free-standing Unit. Students will gain a basic knowledge of the principles of cake decorating techniques and the practical skills to use a range of finishing decoration techniques including the selection, preparation and application of fillings and coatings to cake bases whilst using safe and hygienic working practices.
The unit will introduce candidates to the preparation of and application of a range of basic cake coatings to a variety of cake types. This course is a free standing unit which can lead to further study either on full-time or part-time basis.
In this Unit candidates will be weighing and measuring. Therefore, there will be opportunities to develop aspects of Core Skill: Numeracy.
