What's Involved

The Camera Techniques night-class consists of lectures and practical exercises, with the emphasis on the practical side of photography.

Over the 12 weeks you will be introduced to all the technical details of using your camera but in a way that's understandable and fun.

We'll look at understanding Aperture/ISO/Shutter speeds and how these 3 elements work in synergy with each other to produce your desired results. From portraiture to painting with light to landscape photography, rule of thirds, composition all the elements that make up your shot will be covered over the weeks.

You will also be given fun homework projects to refine the shooting techniques and on the first night you will be given the timetable of the course so that you know what camera kit to bring that week.

By week 5 or 6 you should be shooting on manual mode having made the transition from automatic and once you're on manual the world of photography is your oyster.

Candidates should bring their own DSLR camera.
