This course is for those wanting to learn a new skill or are interested in welding as part of a hobby. It’s not for those who already weld at work and are looking for advanced training.

There are no formal entry requirements, but you’ll need to supply and wear appropriate boots and overalls.

This course is for those wanting to learn a new skill or are interested in welding as part of a hobby. It’s not for those who already weld at work and are looking for advanced training.

There are no formal entry requirements, but you’ll need to supply and wear appropriate boots and overalls.

The course focuses on MIG (Metal Inert Gas) Welding and/or MAG (Metal Active Gas) Welding techniques.

You’ll learn the fundamental concepts of welding, including preparation of the welding equipment, setting and adjusting the welding conditions, and checking the quality of the welds.

An important part of the course will be complying with Health and Safety requirements.

As well as developing basic welding skills, you’ll have the opportunity to achieve an EAL qualification in Welding.

£210.00

This course is eligible for Individual Training Account (ITA) and Fee Waiver, depending on individual circumstances.

However, Skills Development Scotland have now closed ITA to new applicants and it is anticipated it will reopen in April 2019.
