Lightroom and Photoshop for Beginners
This course runs on a Tuesday evening from 6pm to 9pm for 12 weeks. These times include a period for shut down procedures at the end of the night.
This course will bring together the power of two well-known industry standard photography packages Lightroom and Photoshop. It is ideally suited for those working with photographic images (eg graphic designers, printers, photographers) or as vocational development for those wishing to progress into the photography industry.
Our tutor will introduce candidates to Lightroom, a photography file management software widely used by professional photographers to sort, categories and store images. The tutor will explain how to batch process images to help save hours of editing and file storage time. The course will also cover the different image file formats and will include a session on resizing images for use on social media.
Using Photoshop software participants will learn to use professional tools like filters, softening and sharpening functions, brushes, cloning, adding text and creating colour pop images.
Classes will also introduce students to layering and masking and provide students with an understanding on how artistic composite images are created.
This class is designed to provide a friendly environment for individuals to learn about the powerful tools used every day by photographers and designers to enhance, share and store their work.
This course is eligible for Individual Training Account (ITA), depending on individual circumstances.
However, Skills Development Scotland have now closed ITA to new applicants and it is anticipated it will reopen in April 2019.
