The events industry in Scotland is flourishing - from major international sporting events like the Commonwealth Games and the Ryder Cup, to music events such as T in the Park and the MOBOs, to an ever-growing number of festivals for foodies, culture vultures, adrenalin junkies, whisky enthusiasts and everyone in between.
We’ve created this exciting and modern course to teach you everything you need to know about running a successful event - whether it’s local, national or even international - and give you the skills you need to start your career in this dynamic and diverse industry, or move onto a higher level of study.
You’ll look at the whole event process from concept through planning, costing, delivery and evaluating.
You’ll explore client needs and customer care, learn about the service element of food and drink, and develop key skills such as confidence, team working and a real eye for detail.

Event skills give you a fantastic opportunity to work wherever you want - you can travel anywhere in the world or choose to work from home if you set up your own business.
Events roles are found in many different types of sectors such as education, sport, entertainment, hospitality, leisure and tourism.
You could find yourself working in a specialist events company, music venue, university or college, visitor attraction, hotel - even a cruise liner!
Specific roles include: event manager, hotel functions manager, wedding co-ordinator and conference organiser, or you could work in an events management team or marketing team.Back to Hospitality, Tourism and Events
