Professional Cookery SVQ Day Release
This course is available as a day release programme running from 9am to 4pm
There are no entry requirements for this programme. You need to be working in a professional kitchen environment and have a keen interest in developing your skills and knowledge.
There is a mix of practical and theory based activity. Each day you will spend time in one of our kitchens developing your practical skills, and for the final 2 hours each day you will be in a classroom base developing your product knowledge. You will work on a wide range of skills and dishes covering starters, main courses, deserts, and bread products at the appropriate level.
The course is delivered as a joint Level 2 and Level 3 programme so there is an award at the right level to meet your needs. On application and interview one of our lecturers will discuss with you skills, experiences and aspirations and will support you onto the best level for you.
From the Level 2 programme you can progress to Level 3 and from Level 3 you can develop your craft skills to an advanced level on an HNC Professional Cookery course. These courses are all industry based and reflect the skills levels required of a professional chef.
These qualifications will help you to become better and more productive in your job role and help you to look towards progressing to a senior level in a kitchen environment.
