In today’s business environment an understanding of digital technologies, apps and internet solutions is essential.

On this course you will learn about:

  • Web Services for Business (e-checklists, Dropbox, Eventbrite, PayPal, Crowdfunding, Meeting Scheduling Tools)
  • Messaging Applications (WhatsApp, Skype, FaceTime)
  • Data Storage Solutions (Cloud vs Local Storage)
  • Using Professional Networking Sites to Support your Business Activities (LinkedIn, Ryze)
  • Content Sharing for Businesses (YouTube, Vine, Instagram)
  • Use of Social News Sites to Gather Business Intelligence (Reddit, Digg)
  • Professional Blogging
  • Business Problem Solving using Forums (Technical Help, Discussion Groups)
  • Business Analytics (Google analytics, StatCounter)
  • Gathering Feedback using Web Services (Survey Monkey, Survey Gizmo)
  • Digital Etiquette

You will build a portfolio of evidence as you use and explore different tools, this portfolio will be used as assessment evidence.

After this course you will be able to select and use a wide range of digital technology tools and resources to support your business activities.


When you successfully meet the course assessment requirements you will be awarded a Higher National Unit in Digital Technologies for Administrators (SCQF Level 7). This unit is also part of the HNC/HND in Administration and Information Technology group award.
