    This course runs on a Thursday evening from 6.00pm to 9.00pm for 32 weeks and a Tuesday evening for 12 Weeks. Individuals that have recently undertaken the HN unit in Sage Accounting (Sage line 50) will not have to attend on the Tuesday evening.

The Professional Development Award (PDA) in Financial Accounting at SCQF level 7 provides excellent continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities for those currently employed in an accounting and finance role or those who wish to take up a career in accounting and/or financial administration. It is also relevant to those with appropriate work experience who wish to formalise their qualifications.

PDAs are nationally recognised qualifications, which may help to enhance your career prospects. The PDA in Financial Accounting forms one of a suite of PDAs in Accounting and Finance, which consist of units taken from the HNC in Accounting. The award can be taken as a qualification in its own right or used with other PDAs to build achievement towards the full HNC.

On this course you will:

  • Develop skills and knowledge of double-entry book-keeping, trial balance and VAT returns
  • Cover the preparation of final accounts, cash flow statements and the use of ratios for analysis of accounts
  • Use SAGE accounting software to record accounting transactions and produce of a range of accounting reports
