    This course is equivalent to a SCQF Level 6 and runs on a Thursday evening from 6pm to 9pm for 25 weeks. These times include a period for shut down procedures at the end of the night.

What's Involved

This qualification is ideal if you have management responsibilities but no formal training. On this programme we will explore different management and leadership theories/techniques and investigate how these apply in the real world. At the end of each unit you will complete a short assessment on the unit topic which is applied to your role within your own organisation.

This course is particularly suited to practicing team leaders seeking to move up to the next level of management and managers who need to lead people through organisational change, budget cuts or other team pressures.

On this course you will learn:

  • How to plan, organise and delegate work
  • To use problem solving techniques to make more effective decisions
  • How to recruit, select and induct new staff
  • The health and safety responsibilities of a manager
  • How to create personal development plans for yourself and others
  • How to develop your leadership skills and how to apply and action learning to your own development

This course is accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). The Certificate is a stand-alone qualification, however, participants can use the credits gained in this course towards the achievement of the Diploma in Leadership and Management at SCQF 6.
