What's involved

The 1 day REHIS Elementary Health and Safety course is ideal for all workers. It is designed to give employees a firm grounding in Health and Safety. The course is designed to provide practical information and advice which will help employers and employees to ensure that their work activities are carried out safely, reducing the risk to themselves and others.

This practical course gives a general introduction to Health and Safety issues, and the precise meaning of terms commonly used in this area – e.g. Hazard, Risk, Safe, Accident, Competent Person and Dangerous Occurrence; and looks specifically at Health and Safety Law; Risk Assessment; the General Working Environment; Slips, Trips and Falls; Hazardous Substances; Occupational Health; Machinery and Equipment; Manual Handling; Electricity at Work; Fire and Accidents and Emergencies.

Assessment & Certification:

  • Assessment is a 30 multi choice question paper.

On successful completion of the course, a National Accredited Certificate of Attendance will be issued by the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland.
