What's involved

Interested in developing yourself and others? New to coaching? This qualification is designed for people in their first management roles – including team leaders and first-line managers. On this course you will explore different coaching tools and will develop the confidence to coach people as part of your normal working role.

This course will introduce participants to the role of coach, basic coaching processes and coaching techniques. Your tutor will discuss the abilities and qualities you need to be a good coach to help you recognise your own strengths and weaknesses.

The second unit on the course will explore reflective practices. This section of the course will give you the tools to analyse and improve your own performance as a coach.

To meet the requirements of this course participants will be tasked with planning and carrying out at least six hours of coaching with supervision and support within the workplace.

Equivalent to SCQF level 6.
