Ayrshire College to host first IPSE freelancing event for students in Scotland

The Association of Independent Professionals and the Self-Employed (IPSE) have joined forces with Bridge2Business to launch the first 'Freelancing for Students' event in Scotland.

Ayrshire College's Kilmarnock Campus will host the first in a series of events on January 23rd 2019, which are designed to give students across all disciplines top tips and advice on how to successfully launch a career as a freelancer.

The event offers students the opportunity to take part in a series of practical workshops and hear from a panel of successful freelancers who will share their journey, challenges and successes.

Jack Allan, the 22-year-old founder of 95 Social, will be hosting a workshop on "Opportunities in freelance work and how to get started".

95 Social is a social media agency that pairs small businesses up with creative, social media savvy students, to find the most cost-effective, and dynamic way for businesses to grow their brand and tell their story digitally.

Despite being in its infancy, 95 Social is already working with a number of clients around Scotland. Jack believes strongly that the best way to learn about business is by doing and not through theory.

Jack's workshop will also include a panel discussion with freelance workers who will be sharing their personal success stories with freelance work across a variety of sectors.
