Hospitality students raise money for local charity

Hardworking Hospitality students have been raising monies for Ayrshire College’s chosen charity this year, the Ayrshire Hospice.

The money was raised through the generous donations of customers in lieu of tips for the students, when enjoying lunches and events at the college’s training restaurant, ‘Inver’, on the Ayr campus.

The most recent event, a Royal Wedding themed lunch, served a three course lunch to over 90 guests over two days, included themed cupcakes and a wedding cake.

The events have been a great success and Hospitality and Professional Cookery students were delighted to present the cheque for a total of £2613.58 to Lyn Bateman, Senior Fundraising Officer from the Ayrshire Hospice.

About the dedication of the students Lyn said “the service, meal, surroundings, atmosphere are all first class and a credit to the college. We are delighted to receive this cheque raised through the generosity of Inver’s customers”.

Online applications are now open for 2018-19 Hospitality courses.
