Students enjoy Ayrshire College Freshers’ events
The Ayrshire College Student Association has welcomed new and returning students to college life by holding a series of Freshers’ events this week.
Events were held on every Ayrshire College campus, providing students with plenty of helpful information.
Stallholders from a wide range of third sector, public and private organisations were in attendance to talk to students and give them advice for the academic year ahead.
Ayrshire College Student Association Vice President, Jack McCrindle, said of Freshers’ “I am delighted at the success of this year’s Freshers’ events. We had a great turnout and have received really positive feedback from the students.”
Jack is working alongside Student President Kevin Simpson as part of the Student Association team for 2018/19, and they both took the opportunity to speak with students to raise awareness of what they do.
The Ayrshire College Student Association supports students with any issues that may arise throughout the year, and signposts them to relevant organisations if further help is required. The Student Association organises Freshers’ events every year at the start of term, to help students become more comfortable with the college environment, make new friends and find out what help is available to them.
The final Freshers’ event takes place at the Skills Centre of Excellence in Irvine on Thursday 13 September.
