'Impact Summit Fringe' event announced for Ayrshire

An exciting new collaboration has been announced for 2019 which will introduce a series of regional youth impact summit events across colleges in Scotland.

In partnership with Bridge 2 Business and FutureX, the series of regional events will take place in colleges between February and May 2019 ahead of the annual national Impact Summit event, which will take place on 15 May at SWG3, Glasgow.

The first in the series of regional events will take place at Ayrshire College’s Kilmarnock Campus on Wednesday 27 February 2019. This event in partnership with FutureX is focusing on enterprising opportunities for the Ayrshire area, with the aim of highlighting and discussing the local challenges and trends. On the day there will be professors, local business owners, and students discussing their ideas and how we can create an impact for the local area through purpose led enterprises.

Themed workshops, hosted by a variety of speakers will highlight and discuss topics including: timeless skills, purpose-led businesses, challenges within the Ayrshire area, business skills, and how we can raise aspirations for the entrepreneurs of the future.

Colin Mason, Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Glasgow will be hosting a workshop focusing on 'The importance of the Circular Economy - Future thinking - Where do entrepreneurs get their business ideas from?'

There will be further updates on confirmed speakers to follow. To keep up-to-date with the events, be sure to follow @bridge2business on Twitter and use #ImpactSummit19.
