‘Start here, go anywhere’ at Ayrshire College’s Open Day

Ayrshire College is hosting an Open Day across its three main campuses on Wednesday 19 June, providing potential students a chance to find out more about courses starting in August.

The Campuses offer modern facilities with exciting learning spaces, to help students learn in a way that suits them. The College can help to develop knowledge and skills to get a job, move on to university or start up a business.

With exams just finishing, secondary school pupils are considering their next step. The Open Day will provide the chance to find out more about the courses on offer. For those who have already accepted a place to join us in August, there will be staff available to provide advice about funding, childcare, and any learning support that you might need.

Colleges are seeing an increase in mature students coming to college and doing very well in their quest for retraining for a new career, with 39% of enrolments from mature students in the last year. In fact, age 25+ are the most successful age group on full time courses.

Mature student Agata Chmielowski is originally from Poland and studying HND Mechanical Engineering. She encourages others to come to college and said “Coming to college has been a fantastic experience. I’ve really improved my English language skills, as well as learning the engineering side of things. I’ve learnt so much, I have got an apprenticeship and I’ll be fully qualified in 2 years time!”

Staff will be on hand throughout the event to answer questions about course options and career paths.

The event will take place on Wednesday 19 June at the Ayr, Kilmarnock and Kilwinning campuses from 1pm to 5pm.
