Flexible Workforce Development Funding for Ayrshire employers
Ayrshire College is seeking employers who are Apprenticeship Levy payers to let them know about a fund they can access to train their staff.
The Flexible Workforce Development Fund (FWDF) is available to organisations across the private, public and third sectors who are subject to the UK Government’s Apprenticeship Levy. If eligible, employers can apply for up to £10,000 free training to support the development of their workforce.
The objectives of the fund is to up-skill and re-skill existing employees. It can be used for a wide range of training including management skills, digital skills and soft skills.
Wendy McFarland, Business Solutions Manager said “This funding is very welcome and will enable Ayrshire’s employers to make training and skills development available to their staff, addressing skills gaps and improving productivity. I would encourage all levy-paying employers to get in touch with us to find out about the flexible training opportunities available to them at Ayrshire College.
“We have already engaged with a number of levy-payers and have a good understanding of the needs of Ayrshire employers. The fund can be used to access some of our existing short course training programmes or can be utilised to develop tailored training packages which can be delivered at one of our Ayrshire campuses or on the employer’s premises.
“It is estimated that 590 organisations in Ayrshire currently pay the Apprenticeship Levy. The fund will close for applications on 28 February 2018 and unallocated funds will redistributed to other Scottish regions so it is important to get in touch with our Business Solutions Team as soon as possible.”
