Courses at Ayrshire College
College restaurants packed out over Christmas
Ayrshire College's training restaurants in Ayr and Kilmarnock tasted great success in December as customers enjoyed Christmas meals ahead of the holidays.
Staff and students at Ayrshire College served approximately 933 Christmas meals in the Kilmarnock Campus' Salt & Barrel restaurant, and 840 in the brand new Inver restaurant at the Ayr Campus.
Both restaurants are now back open to the public following the winter shutdown, with three courses available starting from just £8.50. Inver also has a Burns Supper planned for 23 January.
Ayrshire College’s training restaurants offer students a realistic experience of the hospitality industry, with only the best quality, locally produced ingredients used throughout the menu. Hospitality students at the College prepare, cook and serve the food to customers.
Reservations can be made at the Inver restaurant for arrivals between 12pm and 1:30pm, by phoning 01292 293010. Salt & Barrel is available for bookings between 12:15pm and 1pm, and for dinner between 5pm and 6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, by phoning 01563 548 010.
Meanwhile Kilmarnock based students Alan Sneddon, Barry Hill, Paul Neilson and Stuart Orr volunteered to help at the CHIPmas Christmas Lunch at Kilmarnock’s Grand Hall last month, where they served lunches to 250 people who attend a day care lunch club within East Ayrshire.
