How Can We Help?

How Can We Help?

Student Services offer different kinds of support depending on your needs. Feel free to use us as often as you need. Our staff are here to support you throughout your time at Ayrshire College. We encourage you to come and chat to us at any time. We can also put you in touch with other college services such as Funding, Inclusive Learning, Counselling and more.

Our Student Services Advisors are here to help you to make the right choices and support you while you are studying at college. We can provide advice and guidance:

  • while you are thinking about your options
  • throughout your course
  • before you leave us to go on to higher education or employment

You can book an appointment to see the Advisor for your Curriculum Area either in person, over the phone or by e-mail. If you have a quick question you can drop-in and see our Duty Advisor at the Student Services desk.

If you are applying for university, our staff will support you through your UCAS application; or if you are considering employment, we will help you with your CV and interview preparation.

Campus Liaison Officer

Campus Liaison Officer

PC Kimberley Bradford is the campus liaison officer for Police Scotland within Ayrshire College. Her role is to support and to provide guidance to students and staff. On her role she says,

"I want to concentrate on breaking down barriers with young people and show that police officers are approachable, fair and willing to help no matter the circumstances.

I am based between all of the campuses in the college within the Student Services areas, but also can be contacted to arrange one to one meetings should you want to discuss something with me privately.

A large part of my role also includes delivering educational workshops focusing on areas of concern to the college, these include things like drugs, alcohol and the law, domestic abuse, social media and personal safety.

I want to provide you, the students with up to date accurate information which can help improve your time at college as well as help you make more informed and safe life choices.

I am here to engage with students in a more informal basis than you may normally be used to from the Police, to build relationships and break down barriers. I am not here to criminalise students but to concentrate on intervening early to provide the support and guidance that may be needed at that particular time as well as provide advice or be available to report any issues to.

I want to make sure all at Ayrshire College feel safe within the college community assisting in Police Scotland’s philosophy of Keeping People Safe."

PC Bradford can be contacted through Student Services or through her email: Kimberley.Bradford@ayrshire.ac.uk
