Job Description

We are looking for a Personal Assistant/Buddy to support a young man with autism. J has just left school and is looking forward to exploring his own interests and hobbies. J loves animals and likes to visit the Zoo. Blair Drumund Safari Park is a particular favourite of his. J used to enjoy horse riding but is wanting to explore other hobbies for now. Hobbies include snooker, badminton, going to the cinema and dinosaurs. J also likes to spend time on his iPad and Xbox.

 

Person Specification

Ideal candidate will have experience in working with young adults with additional support needs and autism. A good knowledge of what’s on locally would be helpful. The ability to work on own initiative, to plan and organise suitable activities whilst listening to the wishes and needs of the young person. Previous experience of working in a similar support role is desirable.

 

Terms/Rate of Pay

Rate of pay is £8.50 per hr

15hrs p/w to be worked flexibly (3 x 5hr shifts).

 

Essential skills/experience:

Driving Licence is desirable for this role. Candidates are required to be part of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and provide a minimum of two references.
