    Variable hours as and when required You will provide signing and note taking support to students who require additional support within the learning and teaching environment, in order to enable the development of learning skills that will nurture independence and facilitate access to Further Education. In addition, you will contribute to needs assessments, Personal Learning Support Plans, and identification of support required for your students. This will involve regular reports on student progress and involvement in staff team discussions to ensure high quality of support for your students You will be educated to a minimum of BSL Level 3 or equivalent, and will have experience of supporting children and/or adults with a hearing impairment within a learning support service. Demonstrable knowledge of current models of support for learning is also essential, as is the ability to empathise and engage effectively with your students while managing challenging behaviour.

  • Inclusive Learning Assistant - Pre-Approved Register - Fixed Term until 26th June 2018 Posted: 09/08/2017

    Variable hours as and when required You will carry out needs assessments and identify support strategies for students with additional support needs, to enable students to develop learning skills and to nurture independence. This will involve the delivery of a full range of learning support activities in order to assist students who require adaptations to their learning environment and thereby enable learner success. You will be responsible for assessing the needs of individual students studying at both non-advanced and advanced levels and identifying support required using recognised assessment screening tools where appropriate. You will be educated to HNC level or equivalent with experience of providing support to young people and /or adults with additional support needs. Knowledge of assistive technologies and models of support for learning, alongside an understanding of relevant legislation are essential for this role. It is also desirable that you hold a Professional Development Award (PDA) in Inclusiveness.
