October 15, 2019 - Martin Currie

I feel I have developed confidence in being able to deal with challenging issues as they arise

Sophie Campbell, HNC Childhood Practice

I have enjoyed my time at Ayrshire College and found the lecturers to be extremely helpful. I have found the course has given me a deeper knowledge and understanding of childcare practice and my time at placement improved my confidence and abilities.

Learning the theory as well as undertaking the practical work within my placement has given me the knowledge and confidence I need to pursue a career in early years.

The majority of my course involved child development, theorists and legislation and policies. Other topics included collaborative working, leadership, SVQ and a graded unit.

I am surprised and really pleased to have won this award, I have worked hard throughout my time and hopefully this will stand me in good stead for the future.

I have gained good communication skills, time management as well as good organisation and team working skills. I feel I have developed confidence in being able to deal with challenging issues as they arise.

I am currently studying for an HND in Childhood Practice. My plans for the future are to successfully complete my HND and go onto University and study Childhood Practice at decree level, before pursuing a career within this sector.
