What's Involved?

The Level 5 qualifications in Management Coaching and Mentoring are designed for practising middle managers and those aspiring to senior management to develop management coaching and mentoring skills, helping you to identify the links between management coaching, mentoring, and achieving business goals. This vocationally related qualification enables managers and leaders to develop their core knowledge, skills and behaviours in a supportive trainer-led and peer supported environment. Further online learning support is made available through the Chartered Management Institute membership and the ManagementDirect learning portal, for the duration of study.

Course Content

Unit 5014V1- Introduction to management coaching and mentoring

Understanding the concept and purpose of management coaching and mentoring, including how to determine the use of management coaching and management mentoring as a tool in human resources development. You will also gain increased understanding of the relationship between coaching and mentoring and organisational objectives.

Unit 5015V1- Management of coaching and mentoring

Understand the impact of coaching and mentoring programmes on an organisation, be able to manage the implementation of coaching and mentoring, and understanding how to monitor and evaluate the operation of coaching and mentoring within an organisation

Unit5016V1- Using coaching and mentoring skills as a manager

Be able to determine how learning and development styles support the coaching and mentoring practice, develop skills as a manager in coaching and mentoring, be able to articulate and develop a coherent ethical framework to support coaching and mentoring within an organisation.

Assessment

Written assignments will require to be submitted following completion of teaching delivery. The CMI Level 5 Certificate in Management Coaching and Mentoring will be awarded upon successful completion of all assessments.

This course is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute, and forms part of a development pathway with Ayrshire College allowing individuals to subsequently work towards the CMI Level 5 Diploma.
