Transition to College - Fit for Life
This is a course for school pupils.
10:00am - 12:00pm and 1:00pm - 3:00pm
What is the course about
This course is delivered by staff from Supported Education and is supplemented by familiar school Pupil Support staff that will support you.
The units delivered are at SCQF Level 3; however the units have been selected to allow the lecturer to assess the correct level for you and can be adjusted to suit you.
The main aim of the course is to introduce you to College life, attending and studying in preparation for transition to full-time education within the College.
You will experience a range of physical activities that will provide contexts for reinforcing and extending these basic skills. You will also learn how to respond to and meet the physical demands of performance in a safe and effective way.
You will be studying a unit called Physical Education: Performance Skills. You will be learning how to select and apply a range of basic movement and performance skills in familiar contexts, demonstrating basic control, fluency and safety. You will demonstrate basic body and spatial awareness with occasional identifiable patterns and rhythms. You will learn to make appropriate decisions and routine adaptations to composition or tactics.
What do I need
You should be working at National 3 level.
Once you successfully complete this course you will have the following options:
• Connect to Careers (SCQF Level 3)
• Routes to Careers (SCQF Level 4)
• Introductory Vocational College Courses at SCQF Level 3 or 4
