Grant awarded to support online digital skills training for young people in Scotland
Leading business education charity, Young Enterprise Scotland (YES) has brought forward the roll out of a programme to help the organisation develop and deliver digital skills training to young people following a grant from Accenture.
The extended online digital skills programme is free for senior school and college level students and will help fill the learning gap left as a result of the necessary closure of educational establishments due to COVID-19.
Originally launched in 2018, the programme includes eight courses which are constantly developed by experts across Accenture and includes key insights into digital marketing, web analytics and user experience.
The vision and goal is that YES will ultimately work with early adopters and influencers from academic institutions to become ‘Digital Champions’. These Champions will then help to embed the modules into curricula activity, giving learners both virtual and physical access to the course content.
This programme is a key component of Accenture’s established Skills to Succeed initiative, which is designed to leverage digital innovation to close the skills gaps and create employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.

More than ever, we believe that providing enterprise education is vital for young people to develop the skills they will need to prepare them for a rapidly changing world of work.”
