To apply for this course, you'll need:

• a genuine interest in beauty
• four National 3s or equivalent qualifications at SCQF Level 3
• be aged 16 or over (if you are under 16, with appropriate permissions, we’ll consider you for a place)

If you don’t have formal qualifications but have life experience, then we’ll also consider you for a place, so please do apply.

During this course, you may study:

• Facials: Learn basic facial routines, including cleansing, toning, and moisturising.
• Intro to Eyebrows: Develop skills in eyebrow shaping and explore different eyebrow shapes.
• Contemporary Make-Up: Gain expertise in basic and day makeup, along with corrective techniques like shading and highlighting.
• Manicure: Learn professional manicure techniques and nail polishing.
• Introduction to Creative Nails: Discover how to create basic nail art designs on hands and feet.

You'll may also have opportunities to:

• learn in our commercial training salons
• participate in competitions
• listen to industry experts
• volunteer for community events
• assist in promotional events, like campus wellbeing days

Upon successful completion of this course, you may have the opportunity to:

• progress to the January start of the Professional Beauty Techniques course
• explore various career paths, including Salon Beauty Therapist, Spa Therapist, Self-employed Beauty Therapist/Salon Owner, Beauty Therapist on a cruise ship, Beauty Therapist Trainer/Educator, or Nail Technician
