Killie Heartmates’ charity walk at Ayrshire College
Members of the Killie Heartmates group have taken part in a fundraising walk around the football pitch at Ayrshire College’s Kilmarnock Campus in memory of Liam McGhee.
Liam tragically took his own life before his 16th birthday last year, and his family have been raising funds for Beautiful Inside & Out, a charity which provides support to bereaved parents and siblings.
Liam’s grandfather David is a member of Killie Heartmates – an exercise group for those who have suffered from a cardiac event. Killie Heartmates arranged the walk with the Sport & Fitness team at Ayrshire College, who the group have a strong partnership with.
The group walked around the football pitch 16 times in Liam’s memory and raised a total of £450 for Beautiful Inside & Out.
Liam’s dad Ray will add the donation amount to the overall total they have raised through other fundraising events, and hand over a final donation later this month.
