It’s Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2020!
Stuart Millar is the Head of Apprenticeships and Work-Based Learning at Ayrshire College and the representative for Scotland’s Colleges on the Scottish Apprenticeship Advisory Board’s Standards and Frameworks Group.
Stuart welcomes you to Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2020:
"This year's theme is Talent Without Limits – a theme that I think sums up apprenticeships perfectly.
Every apprentice in Scotland is maybe just one person in one job, or placement, but with hard work and dedication their involvement in Scotland’s apprenticeship family can open up endless career possibilities.
Whether that be a Foundation Apprentice in school picking up invaluable vocational skills and industry experience, a Modern Apprentice gaining skills and qualifications to support their future career while earning a wage, or a Graduate Apprentice undertaking a degree that is delivered primarily in their workplace, each is on a journey that is rightly becoming more recognised as the number one option for developing a successful career in Scotland.
At Ayrshire College, we are proud to be strong supporters of the apprenticeship family and 2020 is a landmark year for us. Through continued growth of the Modern and Foundation Apprenticeship programmes we deliver, this year we have trained more than 1000 apprentices for the first time.
That’s 1000 Ayrshire residents, mostly young people, on a pathway to a successful, rewarding career that could help bring prosperity to them, their families and their communities for many years to come.
Keep an eye on our website and social media feed over the next week where we will be showcasing the success of Ayrshire’s past, present and future apprentices.
And remember, there really are no limits to where an apprenticeship career path can take you"
