Overview

Ayrshire College’s Building Future Pathways is a short 18-week course. (Level 3)

This course isn’t just about learning, it’s about unleashing your potential for success. Imagine diving into the world of hair, beauty, early years and health and social care with hands on skills that are both practical and fun.

At the heart of this exciting new course is a personalised student informed approach, which means we are creating a space where we get to know you, you get to know us, and YOU get to choose, feel safe, trust and team up with others to own your learning and self-development journey.

The learners will come from two different sources. You could be a former or current student who will benefit from being in a smaller class group, or a new student whose needs will be best met on this course.

This Building Future Pathways course will be delivered by a small team of tutors from three different college departments. They are from the Hair and Beauty curriculum ; the Early Years and Childcare curriculum and the Health and Social Care Curriculum. You will have opportunities to learn about careers in these three areas. You will start to develop the qualities and skills you would need to work in these areas.

You and your classmates will be supported to choose projects that you will work on throughout the course. These will help you become more aware of how you tick, what makes you happy and sad and what things help to get the best out of you. You will become more ready for further study and/or employment when the course finishes, because you will have developed confidence, learning skills and employability skills. All being well you will also leave with a few SQA units of study under your belt.

We are looking forward to working with all our new students.
