Who is the course for?

This course is aimed at senior phase school pupils who wish to develop their skills and knowledge of Social Science. This is a full-time HNC that can be undertaken while continuing with school study.

Pupils who have already achieved a good suite of Highers may wish to consider the course in preparation for progressing to university as they will develop the academic skills and subject knowledge that will support their pursuit of social science at a higher level.

Wht is the course about?

The course covers a range of social science subjects including, Psychology, Sociology, Politics and History.

You will learn about these subjects, their development as an academic discipline and the impact they have on our understanding of the modern world we live in. You will also learn about the interconnection that social science subjects have with one another and the importance legitimate, ethical research plays in social science.

What are the entry requirements

You should have a real passion for social science and a minimum of 2 Highers at B or above including Social Subjects and English.

What should I expect?

The course uses a diverse range of assessment methods including closed-book assessments, essays, reports, poster presentations, group tasks and more.
