Performing Arts

If you have a passion for performance and aspire to excel in various mediums of acting, this course is designed for you. We aim to equip participants with the skills, knowledge, and versatility needed to shine in today's diverse performance platforms.

To join this course, you should have:

• a genuine interest in acting for stage, film, and digital media
• ideally, at least two National 4 qualifications in English or Drama, with grades A to C or equivalent
• an interest in social and digital media content creation, along with a passion for performance and scriptwriting

We're also open to considering applicants without formal qualifications but who possess life experience and a portfolio showcasing their interest in acting and media. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with us for a chat.

Throughout this one-year, full-time course, you'll build a strong foundation in acting. Our comprehensive and practical curriculum may cover the following areas:

• foundational acting skills: develop a solid understanding of acting techniques, including character analysis, script analysis, improvisation, and emotional range. These skills will enable you to deliver authentic and captivating performances
• voice and movement: enhance your vocal projection, articulation, and physicality. This preparation ensures that you're ready for both close-up and live performances
• medium-specific training: dive into the nuances of acting for different mediums, including stage, film, TV, and digital media. Understand the unique demands and opportunities each platform presents
• collaborative skills: cultivate teamwork and collaboration with fellow actors, directors, and crew members. Recognise the importance of effective communication and adaptability on both set and stage

After successfully completing this course, you'll have several options to consider, including:

• Progressing to SCQF Level 6 in Acting for Stage, Film, and Digital Media starting January 2025.
