To join this exciting course, you should:

• have a genuine passion for Space and Aviation
• hold four relevant National 5s or equivalent, including Maths and Physics, OR have completed a relevant course at SCQF Level 5 or equivalent
• successfully complete an interview with us

Explore fundamental aspects of Space and Aerospace through a primarily theory-based course with some workshop-based learning, honing basic hand skills relevant to the space industry.

• Navigation and Recapture
• Satellite Technology
• Hand Fitting Techniques
• Electronic Practical Skills
• Introduction to CAD/CAM
• Satellite Manufacturing Project
• Launcher Technology
• Materials for Space Technology

Once you’ve finished this course, you may have the opportunity to move on to further studies in the following areas:

• HNC Mechatronics
• HNC Electrical Engineering
• HNC Aircraft Engineering
• HNC Mechanical Engineering

There will also be opportunities to go into employment with satellite manufacturers and within the local Aerospace Cluster. There may be apprenticeship opportunities too.
