Routes to Careers - Work and Wellbeing

Full time, one year
Students should have completed National 3 and be ready to undertake study at National 4.
This course is suitable for young people who have completed the Connect to Careers course at college. It would also be suitable for young people with an additional support need who are preparing to leave familiar supportive education to seek either employment or a course in the college’s wider curriculum. Every week the students will attend college for 18 hours of learning, which will be at SCQF Level 4.
This course has a focus on practical qualifications which will help the students gain recognised accreditation to benefit them in the world of work.
Subjects may include:
- Development of skills in a range of sports
- Promotion of healthy eating in relation to sport
- Communication, Numeracy and ICT
- Health and Well-being
You’ll build transferable Essential Skills in meaningful contexts to help you become more effective in life, learning, and work. This could be communication, numeracy, ICT, working with others, and problem solving.
After completing this course students may have the opportunity to apply for courses at Level 4 in a specific subject area or continue to study within a supportive environment.
