The Scottish Government’s Early Learning and Childcare Workforce Expansion 2020 ambition is to facilitate the recruitment of up to 11,000 additional workers to the sector.
The scale of the workforce expansion presents an opportunity to increase the diversity of the workforce.
With this in mind, and as an Influencer in the Early Learning and Childcare sector, we would like to invite you to join us at a regional showcase event that will be held in Ayrshire College’s Kilmarnock campus on 11th February 2020.
This Ayrshire-wide event aims to provide a regional showcase for influencers who are in support of career choices, changes and pathways.
By holding this event our aim is to:

Raise the profile of ELC as a broader skills based profession.

Attract a more diverse range of under-represented groups into Early Learning and Childcare.

Promote routes into and pathways through the sector, and expand employability pathways.

PT Guidance staff across Ayrshire secondary schools

P6-7 Primary Teacher

Other related organisations and individuals.
‘Early Years Needs You!’ is a half-day event which will feature fantastic keynote speakers, including Cameron Sprague from Stramash Outdoor Learning and Sue Palmer from Upstart Scotland.
From 1.00pm to 4.30pm, the day is packed with interactive workshops and information hubs that will provide the chance to experience ELC as a broader skills-based profession.
