Students raise money on World Mental Health Day

Students hosted a charity event to highlight World Mental Health Day at the Ayr Campus recently.

The Routes to IT, Routes to Retail and Connect to Learning and Enterprise supportive education students from the Ayr Campus, raised money by asking students and staff to wear something yellow to support their #helloyellow campaign, sold home-baking at various stalls and encouraged all to join in the spirit of the event by organising a fun day open to all of the College.

The event raised £290 for the local charity YoungMinds, who support young people with mental health issues, ensuring that young people are empowered, whatever the challenges.

Essential Skills Lecturer, Erine Lennox said “the students got great enjoyment from the organising, planning and taking part in the event. The day was a huge success”.
