Ayrshire College Prince’s Trust Team Raises £250 for Megan’s Space Through Positive Message Fundraiser

Ayrshire College’s Prince’s Trust Kilwinning Team 206 recently completed their community project with a positive message fundraiser in support of Megan’s Space, a local mental health charity. Team members sold homemade cupcakes, soaps, toiletries, and raffle tickets, each item or ticket accompanied by a thoughtful, positive message.

In addition to the delicious treats, students created handmade positive message cards to accompany each purchase, spreading positivity throughout the College. Several team members contributed homemade items for sale and raffle, from soaps and toiletries to baked goods, bringing the College community together and raising £250 for Megan’s Space, an organisation dedicated to supporting mental health initiatives.

This fundraiser was part of the community project component of their Prince’s Trust Team Programme, a 18-week course that helps young people build confidence, develop new skills, and make a positive impact on their community.

Greg Cassidy, Head of Learning and Skills said: "The Prince’s Trust Team 206 took on this fundraiser with incredible dedication, creating an event that not only raised funds for a worthy cause but also filled our campus with positivity. Their enthusiasm and hard work made a real difference, and we couldn’t be prouder of what they accomplished."

Rob Copeland, from Megan’s Space said: "We are grateful to Ayrshire College’s Prince’s Trust Team 206 for their support. Initiatives like this mean a lot to Megan’s Space, not only for the financial contribution but for the awareness it raises around mental health and positivity. It’s inspiring to see young people in our community taking active steps to make a difference,"

The event highlighted the team’s commitment to supporting mental health awareness and community spirit, showcasing the power of positivity and collaboration in achieving meaningful outcomes.
