Why be an Aeronautical Engineering Lecturer?

As a College Lecturer, you’ll provide a positive learning environment, encouraging active participation to ensure that all learners achieve their full potential, and deliver a first-class service to support the student journey.

What is essential to become an Aeronautical Engineering Lecturer?

·     You will be qualified to Degree Level or equivalent in Aeronautical Engineering or a related subject area with relevant industry experience and ideally with an Aircraft Licence.

·     You have the ability to teach a broad range of subjects associated with the aeronautical engineering sector as well as being able to teach within a practical workshop environment with experience of mechanical aircraft skills including hand fitting.

·     You should have comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

·     You have excellent communication skills to engage effectively with all students and staff.

We asked Douglas McClinton, an Aeronautical Engineering Lecturer at Ayrshire College, to tell us why he chose to become a Lecturer at Ayrshire College:

“I wanted to be part of something where I could see what I had created put into practice and Engineering design was the perfect choice. Throughout my career I learned how to think analytically, to think outside the box, to think like an engineer.  Now, I am a lecturer teaching the next generation of aspiring engineers.”
