Elected Student Member (Student President)
I was elected by the student body of Ayrshire College during the 2026 elections to fill the position of Student President.
I started my Ayrshire College journey when I applied for the school college childcare course when I was in S3 and continued those until I left school at the end of S5 and joined the Level 5 childcare course full-time. I completed this course and moved on to also complete my level 6 in Early Learning and Childcare. After 6 years of being a student, I will be graduating this year for completing my HNC in Childhood Practice, which is a step in my life long dream of working with children.
During my time in our college community, I took on the role of LGBT+ and Trans Student Officer, working alongside the previous Student president and Vice president for three years. During my time in this role, I developed my confidence and social skills and found that I had a passion for helping others and ensuring everyone has their voice heard when making decisions.
As Student President, I aim to make Ayrshire College more inclusive than it already is by focusing on bringing all of the communities within the student body together alongside Natalie Bestwick, who is the Vice President. I will make sure the students voices are heard, their opinions validated and taken seriously in decision-making with the college Board to ensure we, as a college, are putting our student experience first and at the centre of what we do.
