-
Student Carers
A carer is someone who provides unpaid support to a friend or family member who cannot manage alone due to illness, disability, mental health issues, or addiction. The college recognises that student carers may encounter extra challenges in managing their caring duties alongside their studies.
-
Care Experienced Students
Ayrshire College takes its role as a Corporate Parent seriously, with a legal obligation to support students who have experience in care. We have developed an action plan to continually improve our function as a Corporate Parent and to fulfil our legislative responsibilities effectively.

We will maintain partnerships with key stakeholders to make sure they receive the necessary support to thrive and succeed as part of our broader commitment to safeguarding our students' interests.
-
Veterans
Ayrshire College has signed the Armed Forces Covenant, demonstrating our commitment to fair treatment and support for those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families. We ensure they receive appropriate support, either directly from the College or through guidance to other resources.
The Advisors are also the key contacts for Student Carers, Care Experienced Students, Estranged students and students who are Veterans.
