Student Association

Bringing Students Together

The Student Association supports and represents all students at the College, including apprentices, part-time, and evening students. We're here for every student, no matter how you study. We organise events, clubs, sports, and campaigns to bring students together and provide volunteering and social opportunities.

We are an independent organisation that operates in partnership with the College, governed by our Constitution. The Association’s elected officers work closely with college staff to enhance your student experience. If something is impacting your learning or potential, we’re here to assist.

Ayrshire College recognises the Student Association as a democratically run organisation dedicated to student representation. The Student President and Vice President serve as full student members on the College’s Board of Management to voice student concerns in organisational decisions.

The Student Association team

Led by two full-time sabbatical officers, the Student President and Student Vice President, who are elected annually and may serve up to two years.

Supported by a full-time Student Association Advisor, who ensures the sabbatical officers and their Executive Committee have the resources they need to succeed. The Advisor also helps students turn ideas into action, from starting clubs to organising fundraising events.

Ways to get involved

Our Student Association has a broad network that spans Ayrshire, we are an independent organisation that works in partnership with the College supported by full-time student officers helping students turn ideas into action!

Class Ambassadors

With support and training from the Student Association, you can help improve the college experience for your peers, gain valuable skills, and showcase your leadership abilities on your CV.

Student Officers

Why not apply for a Student Officer role? These positions let you represent key areas of student life, promote events and campaigns, and work closely with the Student Association and college departments.

Clubs and Societies

The Student Association supports a variety of clubs, including the Chess Club, Student Carers Group, and LGBT+ Group. Have an idea for a club? We’re here to help you bring it to life.

Fundraising

If you’d like to fundraise, let us know! We can provide ideas, promote your event, and supply resources like collection buckets.

Events and Campaigns

The Student Association hosts events and initiatives year-round and welcomes volunteers to get involved. Have a cause you’re passionate about? We can guide you on creating a safe and effective campaign and support you in bringing your idea to life.

Focus Groups

The Student Association hosts focus groups throughout the year to gather student feedback on a range of topics. Keep an eye on your student mailbox for invitations to participate.

Ayrshire College Student Association is affiliated with NUS Scotland, which unites students across Scotland to advocate for impactful changes. Students can engage in various initiatives and campaigns and enjoy a range of discounts with the NUS Totum Card.
