Ways to study
Ayrshire College is flexible in offering options for our students and learners. We have a range of full time and part time courses available for everyone.
-
Full-time Courses
Full-time courses typically run during the academic year and require attendance three to five days a week. These courses provide an in-depth learning experience, preparing you for employment or further education.
-
Short full-time Courses
Short full-time courses condense learning into a shorter period, such as a few months. They’re ideal for gaining qualifications quickly or focusing on specific skills.
-
Part-time Courses
Part-time courses are designed for flexibility, allowing you to fit learning around your existing commitments. These courses are perfect for those balancing work, family, or other responsibilities.
-
Infill Classes
Infill courses allow you to join existing classes where space is available, making it easier to gain specific skills or qualifications without waiting for a new intake.
-
Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships combine work-based learning with college study. You’ll gain hands-on experience in your chosen field while earning a qualification.
-
Work-based Learning
Work-based learning focuses on developing skills directly in the workplace. These courses are often tailored to specific industries or employers.
-
Block-release
Block-release study involves short, intensive periods at college while continuing to work. This option helps you gain qualifications without taking extended time away from your job.
-
Day-release
Day-release study allows you to attend college one or two days a week while working. This format supports skill development alongside employment.
Other flexible learning options
Evening and weekend courses
Our evening and weekend courses are designed for learners to be able to fit in around their career and other commitments. These classes are also great to simply let you progress in an existing hobby, or get started in a new one. Evening classes can range from six week courses to two years of learning.
January start courses
Our January start courses are six month, full-time programmes. These courses allow you to complete your studies in a shorter period of time and often 'fast-track' your progression onto the next level of study in August.
