Mental health and wellbeing
The Student Association collaborates closely with our NHS Mental Health Liaison Officer, Michelle Morton, to host various events, campaigns, and activities focused on student mental health. Activities include resource sharing, participating in Mental Health Days and Awareness Weeks.
Interested in enhancing your emotional and mental health but unsure where to start? Our mental health advice drop-ins offer one-on-one chats with Michelle Morton on a first-come, first-served basis. For an appointment or to get in touch with our mental health support teams, please email se@ayrshire.ac.uk
Pathways of Hope
The College and The Student Association support the new Pathways of Hope campaign, which encourages open discussions about suicide and pathways to hope through sharing experiences and accessing support.
Reclaim the Night
Held every November during the 16 Days of Action campaign, this event raises awareness about the threat of gender-based violence, particularly at night. It calls for safe streets for everyone and is open to all. Check your student inbox for more details.
Free period products
Free sanitary products are available in the college's female and accessible toilets and from Student Services and The Student Association. For sustainable options like reusable period pants, contact The Student Association.
LGBT+ history month
Every February, we celebrate LGBT+ history month to acknowledge and honour the contributions of the LGBT+ community. The month aims to increase visibility, educate on pertinent issues, create safe spaces, and support LGBT+ individuals in living and working without restrictions. To get involved or find out more about the LGBT+ group and available support contact The Student Association.
