The Ayrshire College Student President Elections for 2025 have concluded, with students across the college casting their votes to decide their leadership for the upcoming academic year.
Every year, students and first-year elected officers can nominate themselves as candidates for the roles of Student President and Vice President. After nominations close, the candidates run campaigns, engaging with their peers through classroom visits, social media activity, and direct discussions to share their visions and manifestos.
This year, the student body showed great enthusiasm, resulting in an impressive turnout at the polls. Voting closed on Friday 16th May, with all ballots carefully counted and verified.
The Ayrshire College Student Association is delighted to announce that Darcie Hamilton has been re-elected as Student President, and Connor Skipsey will continue his role as Student Vice President, both for their second terms.
Reflecting on her re-election, Darcie Hamilton shared:
“I’m so, so grateful to every single person who got involved with the campaigning and elections this year, and especially to those staff and students who have supported me. I am truly honoured to be voted in as the Ayrshire College Student President for a second time, and I’m excited to do great things for the 2025/2026 academic year.”
Similarly, Connor Skipsey expressed his excitement for another year as Vice President:
“Being the Student Vice President at Ayrshire College has been amazing and I’ve really enjoyed it, which is why I am so pleased that the students have voted me back in for a second year. I’m looking forward to continuing with some of my projects, including Brighten our Campus, and to work with the students again. Thanks to everyone who has supported me.”
Darcie Hamilton and Connor Skipsey will officially begin their second year as the elected representatives on 1st July 2025, ready to lead the student body and represent their peers’ voices for another successful academic year.
