Liz Walker

Liz Walker is the Chief Financial Controller at Ayrshire College. She holds a Bachelor of Accounting (B.Acc.) degree from Glasgow University and a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification. Her career spans over 30 years in finance, providing extensive and varied experience that has enriched both her personal and professional growth.

Beginning her career in accountancy and audit work, Liz has always maintained a strong focus on ensuring the highest standards of financial governance. The next stage of her career journey took her to Kilmarnock College, where she progressed through various finance roles and was eventually successful in being appointed as Head of Financial Services in the newly merged Ayrshire College.

Liz contributed significantly to the merger of the finance teams of the three colleges and led on the implementation of a new finance system.

Recently appointed to the position of Chief Financial Controller, Liz has also joined the Senior Leadership Team.

She is focused on ensuring high standards in managing financial operations and the college’s compliance with regulatory standards.
