Overview

Comparable to SCQF Level 5 Attendance/Duration: Short Full Time January to June. Hairdressing and make-up is a hugely exciting and diverse industry to work in. This course will provide you with foundation skills in hairdressing and make-up working on creating bridal and evening make-ups, fantasy looks and styling hair for a total look. If you've got passion, drive, creativity, a commitment to work hard, a high level of motivation and are a good team player who enjoys working with others, then hairdressing and make-up artistry is for you.

Entry Requirements

For entry to this course you need:

  • a real interest in all aspects of Hairdressing and Make-up 
  • four National 4's or equivalent qualification, ideally including English and Art & Design. 
  • to submit an application, completing all sections, including Personal Statement in full.

We may notify you of the outcome by letter and/or invite you to attend an interview. If you don’t have formal qualifications, but have life experience, then we’ll also consider you for a place.

Course Content

This course offers a great introduction to Hairdressing and Make-up, giving you the chance to unleash your creativity in hair and makeup.

You may study contemporary day, bridal and evening make-up, foundation styling skills in hairdressing as well as face painting creating fantasy images. During the course you will work on using your new foundation skills to create an overall total look for hair and makeup to meet industy standards.
